How does the peel work?

The peel consists of a low concentration of the chemical trichloroacetic acid (TCA).
Thin layers of aged and damaged skin are removed, stimulating the renewal of healthy, young skin cells. As a result the complexion regains its youthful glow, clarity and firmness.

What happens afterwards?

Immediately after the peel the skin blanches and then turns a little red but not enough to be noticeable back at work!
The skin begins to peel within two to three days. The duration of the healing phase is around 4 days.
A 5 day course of anti-viral tablets is prescribed. Makeup should not be applied until the skin is completely healed to help prevent infection. The 'new' skin will continue to improve in texture and appearance for the next four to six weeks becoming firmer, clearer and more youthful looking.

Contra-indications?

Serious smokers and sunbed worshippers should avoid this treatment.
